So you want to be a magician
Magic is about a few things: truth, empathy, and humility. It is also about choosing every day to be committed to good. I am ignoring whatever evil magic is about because I do not serve it, and it is fundamentally less potent than the magic available to good. Solomonic magic is very specifically sublimating the natural demons of our nature to our most angelic higher-order self. This is an internal journey using an external model that was more understood at the time. It seems to be the underpinning of most systems designed to amplify the human condition and liberate our minds towards awakening.
Let's start by choosing good. Since the foundation of this country, we have rewarded monstrous liars and told them they were the children of God. We let them believe that they were specially chosen to enslave others, although their holy books told the story of liberation from evil empires and slavery. This has created a nation of narcissistic gaslighters who can not easily undo the programming that they are their favorite sons. There was nothing godly about this message; it was a message created by men to soothe the developing monsters. This system protects itself using ego avatars wrapped in rhetoric that is meant to distract and enchant. In doing this, we became a nation of consumer locusts who are never satisfied. It also means that the same conditions of this magical playing field tend towards evil. It's just what happens when we spend generations telling evil men they are sons of gods. To overcome these conditions, you will have to submit your soul to actively choosing well.
Given that we all live in a nation of lies, this will make your life a battlefield. You will be choosing good against conventional “wisdom” and against a system that claims goodness and tries to sell it back to you as oppression. It would be great to take the Morpheus pill and see the system for what it is. It doesn't go down that way. You will be navigating blind and making a choice for your soul every day. In doing this, you become a beacon for other people who are making the same choice. Harrison Bergeron is a good model for this; the Vonnegut short story describes a man trying to dance in a society that oppresses him. The defense system of this chaotic evil system is to convince you choosing good is both not practical and wrong. After all, they are good Americans. They will try to convince you that this is heresy and you are an apostate. None of these things are true, but they will sound true to your programming. You will need to be brave here and choose good anyhow.
How do you commit yourself to good in a kingdom of lies? It's in our soul's DNA. Humans were made to live on this planet in harmony with our fellow man, in villages and communities of love. We were created to love and honor each other. This is the inward journey of transforming yourself into a child of God through the active decision-making toward the collective good. Bad choices don't sit right with our souls. They feel icky. It's why most people know something is wrong with the way we live, and then the system tells us to medicate and ignore that unpleasant feeling. In choosing good, you will have to push through this feeling and make other choices. The truth is that this society is unpleasant for most of the humans it claims to serve. The evidence of why it's not a kingdom of divinity is apparent every day. Its lies should discomfort us, and we must stay present with the truth and choose good over comfort.
The good news is that in doing this, your choices will start to come from a higher place, and all those choices will become more accessible. The paralysis of choice or analysis is genuinely an act of evil meant to hamstring action in this world. Learning to trust your gut and its service to good is how you destroy the shackles of enslavement. Being good is a life of action and not inaction. It's a life of embodiment and not of intellectualism. All your gifts are placed in service of the greater good and are exalted there in ways that don't feel empty.
Truth. The hardest part of working magic in these conditions is the relationship you have with truth and your truths. A nation brainwashed lives in a reality of its making, and it's a genuine truth for them. If you attempt to battle that truth, you will find yourself triggering the defense system. That doesn't work and is, in fact, dangerous. The thing a new magician needs to do is find where truth lives in their body and follow that. In pursuing your truth and living your life in a way that chooses good every day, you will start to peel away the layers of lies and neutralize them. The more we all live in our truths and are liberated, the more we can be a beacon for others who might want to join us in enlightenment. The less time we spend giving the system our attention and energy, the less hold it has on us.
Love is the foundation we want to build our new world on—the love of our fellow humans in various states of liberation. By living our truths out loud and publicly, we are not imposing a world view on others which is a tool of colonialism and oppression. We are simply living securely held by a higher mission and more in touch with divinity. We are not better than anyone else, and we are in service to the mission of collective liberation.
Empathy is crucial in magic because we are playing with the conditions rooted in the collective good. How do we know what's good for others if we can't create the conditions that make others feel seen and heard? The start of magical training must be on learning how to interact with others outside of the ego avatars the system demands of us. That means co-creating fields of love with your fellow magical humans. It means practicing the new skills truth and choice have given you by making the experience of life good for other people. It is fraught with peril as we have few tools in which to make conditions good for others. Our entire system has brainwashed us to compete for resources powerful people say are scarce as they hoard more and more wealth. We don't know how to make the experience of life good for other people. It's going to take some experimentation and practice. It's going to mean setting aside what is comfortable for you and getting into the mind frame of what's comfortable for us. What creates group comfort? It takes an excessive amount of curiosity. Curiosity about the humanity of others. It means yielding yourself to meet them where they are at. It means seeing people's divinity and loving them despite their quirks.
All of this requires humility. Magical humans are just a vessel for work. A pass-through of the magic. It doesn't belong to us, and we are just creatures of its working. To do magic well, one has to surrender self to the alchemical cauldron and get in alignment with both soul and source. One must destroy their ego avatar and lessen the hold of others ego avatars who they may love. To become capable of being a void in which the mystery happens is very lonely while you transform your soul. No one can help you here. This is a choice one makes with full agency and will. When you do this the end result is your ego is not in control of your life but your intuition is. It won't make sense to others but it will make crystalline sense to you. The impact will be good for others. You will know you're on the right path because good people will see your light and get curious. Evil people will slay your name, it doesn't matter what they think and you must pray for their liberation any ow. You will know it's right because there is opposition but you will face it with grace. You will find the cosmic humor in even the darkest hour. Hope will flourish in your soul. Mostly your light will shine so brightly that others can't help but notice; since you are rooted in humility, you can put your light in service to the greater good. Together magical humans living in truth and intuition will overcome the oppression that holds us captive.
That's what all the Holy Books are about. Creating the conditions of utopia through finding our divinity together. Such people only want others to be centered in truth, bringing their gifts of talent and humanity to the village harvest table. That was always destiny. A place where all of us are loved and fed. A place where we can express ourselves and still be loved. A home where we can make mistakes and be forgiven. A life lived as prayer and poem held in the arms of the many who love us. We can make the choices to get there in this lifetime.
